Craig Becker
Global Architect, IBM

Craig Becker (aka Jessica Qin) is currently the Global Architect for IBM's Emerging 3D Internet and Virtual Business EBO. He is a member of the original team that spearheaded IBM's movement into the 3D Internet space, and he led the design and construction of IBM's virtual world presence in SecondLife.

Craig taught himself to program in 1973 at the age of 13 and has been an active software developer ever since. His experience with the Internet dates back to 1980, and he has been with IBM since August of 1985. His career has spanned a wide range of areas including computer graphics, hardware development, user interface design, web application development, artificial intelligence, and peer-to-peer protocol development.

Craig holds a BS and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is an IBM Master Inventor and an artist, and his hobbies include science fiction and motorcycling. He lives in Austin , Texas , where he is married and the father of two children.

Lindsay Chamberlain
Vice Chair of Professional Development

Lindsay Chamberlain has over 15 years experience in project management in the information technology, retail, hospitality, and higher education industries. She has managed large and small projects, revived at risk and troubled projects, and served as a project management and leadership mentor. Lindsay combines her practical knowledge of management, project leadership, adult learning, and information technology to develop and present programs which meet the diverse training needs of today's business environment. Lindsay spent 10 years with the University of Texas at Austin where she started in software development and progressed to project management and team leadership. Currently, Lindsay serves as the Vice Chair of Professional Development for the PMI® Program Management Office Special Interest Group (PMOSIG®) where she directs and manages the professional development program for the PMI® PMOSIG®. Lindsay holds a B.A. in English and a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Texas at Austin . She is certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) by PMI® and is a member of the Austin , Texas , chapter of PMI®.

Chuck Hamilton
Program Manager, IBM

Chuck Hamilton has been with IBM for ten years and currently holds two titles. He is the Learning Solutions Leader at the IBM Centre for Advanced Learning, and also the Director of IBM's new global program called IBM@PLAY, which is leading the application of play across IBM Learning and our customers, including implementation of Virtual Social Worlds like SecondLife .

Chuck speaks at approximately ten conferences a year promoting IBM's role in the future of learning and technology. He is widely published and he has recently been published in Fast Company, Talent Management Magazine, Meetings and Incentive Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, Canadian Business and The Globe & Mail. When he is not traveling around the world he spends his time in Vancouver playing traditional Irish music in his Celtic band.

Ian Hersey
Vice President, Business Objects

Ian Hersey is vice president of technology development and strategy at Business Objects, an SAP company, and is an expert on text analysis technologies, with more than 20 years of bringing innovative research technology into the commercial mainstream.  He came to Business Objects through its acquisition of Inxight Software, itself a spinoff from the famed Xerox Palo Alto Research Center , which pioneered many of the fundamental computing paradigms of today.  As co-founder of Inxight, Ian led the development of what became the industry's broadest text analysis platform, and he has seen firsthand both the promise and the pitfalls of leading-edge technology insertion.  Prior to Inxight, he held senior product management and engineering management roles at Logos Corporation and Inso Corporation, and he began his commercial career at IBM as a computational linguist.  He holds a BA from Rice University and did graduate study at UC Berkeley.

Christopher Park
Principal, Deloitte

Chris joined Deloitte in 1994 and was admitted to the partnership in 2000. He is currently leading the firm's efforts to define a set of consultative services to clients based on the premise of Value-Driven Sustainability . He is a registered architect by training, and in his consulting career with Deloitte has served clients in the life sciences, health care provider, manufacturing, higher education, financial services and retail industry spaces. He is a member of Deloitte's Global Enterprise Sustainability Group (GESG) which is based in Copenhagen , Denmark .

Chris is currently in the process of defining and expanding Deloitte's cross-functional service offerings around enterprise-level value-driven sustainability, linking together traditional environmental, social responsibility and sustainability consulting under the umbrella of Deloitte's Enterprise Value Map. Recognizing the increasing importance of sustainable practice and global footprint reduction to consumers, suppliers and other value chain participants, Chris is defining the elements of the 'Wholly Sustainable Enterprise (WSE)'- organizations that generate growth, profitability and value by transforming themselves to utilize sustainable practice across five critical dimensions: workplace, workforce, products and services, functions and processes, and governance . The firm's services are intended to provide clients a structured approach and framework to drive business case and value initiatives that support sustainability, environmental and CSR activities. Deloitte's services comprise a blend of strategic planning (transformation roadmap development and business case), operational/technical/tactical analysis (value-driven sustainable initiatives, GHG Protocol and other measurement methods/techniques etc), reporting/compliance/assurance services, and specialized tax and financial advisory e.g. tax credits and incentives.

He is working on building relationships with key participants in the sustainability and CSR movements, including the University of Michigan Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise and the University of North Carolina Ken an-Flagler Center for Sustainable Enterprise. Chris is scheduled to present at next January's North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) on the topic of "Earning Green by Going Green: Why Manufacturers Ignore Sustainability at Their Financial Peril."

Adolfo M. Valadez, M.D., M.P.H.,
Texas Department of State Health Services

Dr. Valadez received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed a residency in internal medicine at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston , Massachusetts and is board-certified in internal medicine. Later, Dr. Valadez completed the Commonwealth Fund/Harvard University Fellowship in Minority Health Policy and received a Masters of Public Health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Valadez served as an Instructor in Clinical Medicine at the Harvard Medical School . Prior to his arrival in Austin , Dr. Valadez served as a primary care physician and medical director for the Martha Eliot Health Center , a community health center in Jamaica Plain , Massachusetts . Dr. Valadez has served on peer review committees for the HRSA Centers of Excellence grants, as a member of a CDC Expert Panel on Physical Activity and Nutrition and a Special Emphasis Panel on community-based participatory research methodologies, and on numerous professional societies' advisory committees. Dr. Valadez also serves as a consultant to the Texas Medical Association's Public Health Committee and as a member of the national American Heart Association's Women and Minority Leadership Committee.

Since mid-January 2008, Dr. Valadez has been serving as the assistant commissioner for Prevention and Preparedness Services at the Texas Department of State Health Services. He oversees approximately 1,000 employees and a budget of over $450 million. Dr. Valadez will support and advise DSHS Commissioner David Lakey and other state leaders on his three primary responsibilities: overseeing disease control and prevention, disaster preparedness and response, and our agency's extensive laboratory services.

Todd Williams
Account Executive, Nortel

Todd Williams is an Account Executive for Nortel, a Global Leader in Unified Communications (as recognized by Gartner). He has been focused on and successfully solving the business challenges for customers in the education, government, utilities and retail verticals for 4 years. Todd has assisted customers in the strategy development, design, implementation and hands-on evaluation of their opportunities with Security, Mobility, Compliance/Vulnerability Assessments and Unified Communications. Formerly, Todd was a PGA Golf Professional for over 15 years and successfully managed multi-million dollar golf facilities in California, Colorado and Texas. He has instructed and improved the games of hundreds of players all over the globe, inclusive of a former President of the United States.
